1932 - Nazis hold most seats in German parliament (Richstag). Largest party in Germany
1933 - Hitler appointed 2nd in command - Chancellor or govt head

A

1933 - Richstag (parliament) burns down and Hitler gained dictator powers “for protection”
1934 - Hindenberg dies in Aug and Hitler gave himself title of Der Fuhrer (“The Leader”)
1935 - Hitler initiates draft to expand army and builds new air force (Luftwaffe)
1936 - Depression is over, country prospering, and Hitler is national hero
