उच्छ्रीयन्ताम् : third person plural passive system imperative class I √उच्छ्रि == उत् + √श्रि == √उच्छ्रि I उच्छ्रयति ‘let them (the flags) be hoisted’
THIS VERB MAKES MORE SENSE IN THIS SENSE IF YOU CONSIDER THAT ‘hoist’ HERE DOESN’T REFER TO PULLING A FLAG UP A POLE WITH A LANYARD AND A PULLEY BUT RATHER RAISING A BAMBOO POLE THAT ALREADY HAS A FLAG ATTACHED TO ONE END
