14
Q

How is total magnification calculated

A

calculated by multiplying the level of magnification for the ocular by the total level of magnification for the chosen objective

15
Q

Field of view

A
  • The area that you see when you look into the microscope

- depending on which objective you use, this will be large or small.

16
Q

Explain how our relate to what you can see in the field of view

A

-The lower the power on the objective, the more area on the slide you can see. The larger the power, the less area uses, but in greater detail

17
Q

Depth of focus

A
  • This is where in the 3-D you are focused

- The microscope will focus on different levels on the specimen: top, middle, and bottom layers

18
Q

Working distance

A
  • The amount of space between the bottom of the objective lens and the top of the slide.
  • This decreases as the objective power increases
