Why did Roweena tire of Henry and want him to be free to leave?
Henry started giving orders like a slave driver. And Rowena said she hadn’t meant for things to turn out this way. And whatever happened to all those nice things you used to say to me. If I’m special to you, you shouldn’t be carrying on this way. Henry says that she is not special. He would have said anything so you would tell your papa how nice I was and I could sell him more stuff. Said she was nothing but a silly lovesick goose. Rowena said she would get him free somehow. If only to see Henry aboard the train headed out of town forever.
Why didn’t Sam think that Roweena should try to find Thaddeus Blinn?
Sam said “A human couldn’t go far. But Blinn seems to be a creature of magic. He could be on the far side of the moon by now.”
How did Sam help Henry when he was a tree?
Sam brought a paper sack with stuff to make trees grow, a bucket of water and a small spade. Sam sprinkled the powder around Henry’s feet then worked the ground with the spade. Finally he poured the water over Henry’s shoes. Henry said that it feels real good and that Sam knows how to treat me properly.

Sam was always there helping Rowena take care of Henry. Sam even took care of Henry while Rowena went to the Haskills’ party.

What did Sam Discover about Henry?
Sam discovered that Henry had never been to any of those fancy places he had talked to Rowena about. He worked for Neverfail Company fifty weeks a year and during his two week vacation Henry stays with his Aunt Bertha in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Henry read about all those places in magazines that Sam found in Henry’s briefcase.
